FAQ:

PRP | Exosomes | Stem Cells

What are the risks and side effects?

  • Serious side effects are very uncommon following regenerative injection therapy. Some patients may experience soreness or light bruising 24-72 hours following their injections due to the needle and not the solution. Patients may experience the sensation of soreness which is a common reaction following the activation the healing cascade necessary cellular actions for tissue remodeling to begin.

How many treatments will I need?

  • While each patient and their respective conditions differ, the majority of patients need 1-3 injections spread over 6 to 18 months. The healing process is different for everyone and overall patient health is a large determinant of healing. PRP, Exosomes & Stem Cells help reduce the total number of injections needed saving our patients time and money.

  • Exosome IV therapy has shown best results with treatments every 3 months for systemic conditions like autoimmune disease, anti-aging benefits and other chronic disease conditions.

How soon can I return to activity?

  • We recognize each patient’s condition and their rate of healing is different. Therefore, we recommend musculoskeletal procedures maintain reduced activity 3-5 days directly following treatment with light activity in the following week. We encourage gradual increases in activity with full activity if possible by week 4 unless the injury being treated requires substantial healing time.

  • Other therapies like hyperbaric oxygen therapy, IV infusion therapy, ozone therapy and oral supplementation can help to accelerate the healing process even further. We encourage our patients to take advantage of the healing process (rest) to give your body the best chance at success.

What is the cost?

  • Our patients are unique and so are their individualized treatment protocols. The pricing for PRP, Exosomes & Stem Cell therapy varies based on the complexity of each patient’s case and the biologics used in their treatments. During your initial evaluation Dr. Hughes will educate you on all of the available treatment options and resources so you can make an informed decision about your health care needs.

Does insurance cover this procedure?

  • Unfortunately like many cutting edge medical therapies medical insurance companies have not yet made the shift to covering regenerative injection therapies. We hope someday we will see the benefit of these therapies supported by insurance but they continue to support the current medical model of pharmaceuticals and surgeries.

Am I guaranteed results?

  • As with any medical procedure there are varying success & failure rates. Regenerative injection therapy is no different. Not all patients are good candidates for this therapy. During your initial consultation Dr. Hughes will help determine whether you are a good candidate for regenerative injection therapy and discuss all of your treatment options available. The majority of our patients experience an 85-90% success rate.

Every patient has varying levels of skin damage & as such the healing time is different for everyone. We only use high concentration PRP to provide our patients with the best opportunity for enhanced healing. Some patients elect to add exosomes to their treatments for the most powerful treatment outcomes.

Sexual Optimization

Is this treatment similar to “O-shot", “G-Shot” or “P-shot”?

  • The use of PRP to treat sexual organ tissue is well known in pop-culture by the trademarks “O-shot” or “G-Shot” for females and “P-shot” for males. Due to trademark laws we do not obtain the licensing privileges to advertise using this popular trademark. We greatly respect the hard work and dedication of Charles Runels, MD the founder of these procedures and his trademarked brand. However, our sexual optimization therapy is a much broader treatment protocol that incorporates more than injections.

What are the risks and side effects?

  • Serious side effects are very uncommon. When patients elect regenerative injection therapy as part of their protocol, patients are given topical anesthetics and nerve blocks when necessary for maximum comfort during their procedures. Very small needles are used during these procedure and the solution injected is autologous PRP, although some patients elect to add exosomes and/or stem cells to supercharge their injectables. Some patients may experience soreness or light bruising 24-72 hours following their injections.

What is LI-ESWT and how can that help me?

  • Low intensity extracorporeal shockwave therapy also know by the popular protocol trademark “Gainswave” uses sound waves to break apart plaque that clogs the arteries in penile tissue allowing for increased blood flow to the corpus cavernosa. This therapy has shown great promise in multiple clinical trials to reverse the effects of ED by reducing the amount of expensive vasodilators needed like Viagra or Cialis. Some of the patients in these studies reported they no longer needed the use of medication following this therapy.

How many treatments will I need?

  • While each patient and their respective conditions are different, the majority of patients need 1 injection spread over 1 year to 18 months. We use high concentrations of PRP in our all of our sexual optimization injections & upon request we add exosomes and/or stem cells to supercharge the treatment.

  • Patients who undergo LI-ESWT therapy have specific protocol requirements over the course of several weeks and each appointment is roughly 20-30 minutes. Dr. Hughes will specify which protocol is best suited for your needs following evaluation.

What is the common downtime following my procedure?

  • For many patients they can return to work and resume normal activities including sex on the same day as their procedure. Some patients elect to give themselves a day of rest but we encourage both male and female patients to engage in normal sexual activities as soon as they are comfortable to increase healthy blood flow to the areas treated. Some patients may notice a full feeling that typically resolves in 1-3 days.

What is the cost?

  • Our patients are unique and so are their individualized treatment protocols. During your initial evaluation Dr. Hughes will educate you on all of the available treatment options and resources available so you can make an informed decision about your health care needs.

Does insurance cover this procedure?

  • Unfortunately like many cutting edge medical therapies insurance companies have not yet made the shift to covering regenerative injection therapies. We hope someday we will see the benefit of these therapies supported by insurance but they continue to support the current medical model of pharmaceuticals and surgeries. Some insurance companies & medicare cover the cost of some medical devices within our protocols.

Am I guaranteed results?

  • As with any medical procedure there are varying success & failure rates. Not all patients are good candidates for this therapy however the majority of our patients experience an 85-90% satisfaction rate.
